Floppy Disks: The Forgotten Storage Solution
Floppy disks, also known as floppy disks, or simply "flippies," were a staple of computing in the early days of personal computing. They were a magnetic storage medium that could store data in a relatively large capacity, but were notoriously prone to getting stuck in the drive.
These relics of the past were the bane of many an IT professional's existence, as they would often malfunction, get jammed, or just plain disappear in the depths of a drawer.
Despite their flaws, floppy disks were a necessary evil in the early days of computing, and many a programmer still has fond memories of waiting for what felt like an eternity for a single file to load from a floppy disk.
But fear not, for the days of floppy disks are behind us, and we've moved on to more modern and sleeker storage solutions.
Or have we?
Why Floppy Disks Will Never Be Dead
Because someone, somewhere, still has a stash of 3.5 inch floppies hidden away in a closet, just waiting to be rediscovered and reinstalled.
Or perhaps it's because someone has managed to hack together a functional floppy drive using an Arduino and a toaster.
Whatever the reason, floppy disks will never truly be dead.
